Not much has changed from yesterday to today. It is still uncertain as to when Brian will be well enough to go on the only lung supporting ECMO machine (VV ECMO). I asked what specifically is the benefit of putting Brian on the VV ECMO machine rather than the lung and heart supporting ECMO machine (AV ECMO). His doctor explained that as long as Brian is on the AV ECMO machine his oxygen levels are lower than they would like. Currently, his oxygen levels range from high 70's - mid 80's. When he is on the VV ECMO machine, his oxygen levels can be increased to the low 90's which is more beneficial to his organs. For now, Brian is comfortably sedated and being well looked after. When he is well enough, the change will be made.
Continued prayers for Brian and your family.
