Brian is stable and about the same as the past few days. He did have CT scans of both his brain and lungs today. Blood flow looked normal in his brain without any indication of blockage. His lungs are not showing any marked improvement but his doctors did say that they could not find any indication of blood clots, which is good. As I was in his room, his Tidal Volume was in the 60s-70s ML. He is heavily sedated right now, which causes lower Tidal Volumes. His bilirubin number is higher than it has been. It is currently at 16. However, his liver enzymes have lowered to almost normal levels! Tomorrow, I will see if I can get a better understanding of high bilirubin with near-normal liver enzymes from his doctor when she either calls or sees me in the hospital. The dialysis on his kidneys is showing progress as Brian looks less swollen than he did last weekend.
