June 4
It was good to get to the hospital this evening and see Brian. As previously mentioned, he has had some setbacks since our two youngest and I saw him last weekend. He is stable and heavily sedated. His doctor removed the coma-inducing medications yesterday, but he was still quite sedated this evening. Perhaps by tomorrow, he will be able to respond to touch or verbal commands. He has had multiple blood and platelet transfusions over the past few days to make up for all of the bleeding (mostly from his nose). It looks to me like the bleeding is more controlled, which is a good sign. His trachea is looking better, too!
Fasting is a principle found throughout the scriptures. People fast for different reasons: to mourn, to humble oneself before God, and to focus on praying to God for guidance or preparation or things that we righteously desire. We believe that prayer and fasting are a powerful spiritual combination. Many of our friends, family and, church congregation commonly fast on the first Sunday of each month. This Sunday will be the first Sunday of June. If you would like to join us in fasting and offering up a special prayer of healing for Brian, we would greatly appreciate it. Traditionally, in our faith, going without two meals would be considered a full fast. If fasting is something new to you and two meals seems a bit much, do what you can and most importantly, focus some bit of time in prayer, thanking God for the many blessings we are all so fortunate to have and asking Him to be mindful of Brian, asking God to grant him the strength necessary to heal. Your love and support are so very much appreciated!
Thanks for inviting all of us to join your family in this special fast.
