Brian had a Pulmonary Arterial catheter inserted today in preparation for the heart test that is planned to take place on Tuesday.  His doctor said that the information they are getting back from the PA catheter indicates that they have removed as much excess fluid as they can at this point. The catheter is telling them that his blood pressure is low in his heart but high in his lungs. This tells them that no more fluid should be removed through dialysis. His bilirubin level is the highest it has been at 18. An ultrasound was ordered to determine if the high bilirubin level is due to his gallbladder not functioning properly. Results indicated that his gallbladder is functioning well and that the high bilirubin is due to his liver not working well. The ultrasound also confirmed that the right side of his heart doesn't look normal.
