Brian continues to rest up today. He is heavily sedated and doctors are doing what they can in preparation for his heart test tomorrow to try and see if he can be removed from the AV ECMO machine. Brian has been given extra medications to increase his blood pressure. He was also given an extra unit of blood. His doctor noticed yesterday that his blood pressure was slightly lower than he felt comfortable, so suspecting a possible infection, started Brian on antibiotics to go along with the other medications. Brian's resting heart rate remains in the 120's. His bilirubin went slightly down to 17. His procedure is scheduled to take place at noon tomorrow. His doctor told me that the test could take 3 to possibly 4 hours before Brian would be back in his room. I plan to go in the morning before his test and spend time with him and then return to Sacramento. His doctor will call me with the results of the test as soon as she has news. This test is critical. If Brian can show his heart is strong enough to be taken off of the AV ECMO machine, then he can proceed with treatment with the goal of Brian recovering.
Many prayers for a successful test.
